Stanley, Idaho fly fishing continues to improve as the water level begin to level off to our summer flows.  Mornings in the 30’s and 40’s giving away to bright sunny 80 degree afternoons have the fish feeding regularly in the mid-mornings and active bug life.    Idaho Fish & Game is back on their regular, weekly stocking schedule on both the Upper Salmon between Buckhorn Bridge and Mormon bend, and on Valley Creek. Head to the Yankee Fork ponds if you are looking to get your kids into some fish.

Marsh Creek & Bear Valley water levels are finally dropping to a point that both creeks are fishable.  Please remember to pack -in, pack-out if you head into the Frank Church.  Make sure and check out the Salmon climbing Dagger falls and the abundant wildflowers in Bruce Meadows if you head out that way.

Stanley Fly Shop guided trips are in full swing.  We limit the number of boats per day in the canyon to ensure a great fishing experience.  Give us a call to spend a day with Hunter, Nic, Hayden or Riley for a fantastic day of fishing, lunch and enjoying the freestone Salmon River.  Book your trip online here

The Middle Fork fishing is improving every week.  Guides are reporting lots of active fishing on the upper end with a Stonefly and Caddis.  The Middle section from Thomas Creek to Flying B has reports of great fishing with big, bright, foamy Hoopers and Chubbys and a beachhead dropper.  Drop by the Stanley Fly Shop for our Middle Fork pucks, a weekly curated pack of flies made specifically for the Middle Fork.
