After a fantastic spring runoff the water has dropped and cleared up significantly in the past week.  Fly Fishing in Stanley is starting to improve on a daily basis.   Cold nights and warm days have the bugs coming to life.  Mid-morning seems to offer the best fishing in the area.  Stoneflies, caddis, spruce moth and big, orange foamy MFC flies are the current go-to.  The classic hopper-dropper season has yet to kick off in Stanley, but should not be too far off given the ideal summer like forecast. Drop by the shop for up-to-date info and a mind-blowing selection of MFC flys.

The Middle Fork of the Salmon fishing has improved dramatically over the bast 10 days.  We are hearing of back-to-back days of LOTS of fish. Drop by the Stanley Fly Shop to pick up one of our MFS pucks.  These flies are curated on a weekly basis to mimic what is happening on the Middle Fork.  Make sure and remember your net and keep the fish wet. Rod Rentals and additional equipment are available for week long rentals.
