The Sawtooth Valley has experienced unseasonably warm temps and below normal moisture this spring.  Prior to this week the runoff has been on a slow and steady rise maintaining water clarity and moderate angler action.    This weeks’s very warm temps have increased flow and sediment significantly, turning the fishing off.  Fishing will be challenging the next week or 10 days until the water drops and clarity returns.

Top water fishing is not producing while sub-surface nymphs and streamers are finding the most success.  We reccomend large white colored streamers, bright colored San Juan worms and flashy bead-head patterns.
